Chico is one of SKR's top roping horses, depite the fact he is a Thoroughbred. He has beat many QH's in roping competitions and people are suprised to hear this stocky Quarter Horse-looking gelding is actually a Thoroughbred.
Chico is modeled after a horse a friend of mine owned, a Thoroughbred who was probably the best western horse at the barn (it was a western barn too). He was a participant in the 1998 HC Olympics as a calf roper and he has only improved since.
Aleda McClure has recently begun to rope off of him and you can see the pair in upcoming roping competitions (namely breakaway roping and goat tying). Despite being 20 years old, this gelding is in no mood to slow down!
